Stylish easy to use remote. Works well with the media playing capabilities. My son uses it from the back seat. Works great.

The remote that was sent to me was not the remote being described. This remote would not be recognized by my Tom Tom 730 yet the remote would be found by all my other blue tooth devices; my GPS had no issues syncing with these same Bluetooth devices. When I tried to return it, customer service would not respond to my countless inquiries for returns. It took me almost a month to get Amazon customer service to send me the returning information. Due to their delay in response, they gave me a partial refund. It was not worth the hassle. Although I have had favorable transactions with Amazon for the past decade, their support seems to be faltering at a catastrophic rate.

Seriously. With the exception of my Q7 GPS interface which is good for keeping eyes on the road, this remote is great. Very intuitive to use although in some screens not all the buttons will do something.
The ability to leave autozoom off on my go 720 and manually zoom with the remote is great. Switching from 3D to 2D from the middle button is very handy.
I have 7GB of music in my 720 and the remote allows me or my wife to select and play songs just like a regular MP3.
Just for the safety aspect alone this unit is worth it. While you still need to glance at the GPS screen, the remote buttons are easy to locate and operate without ever looking down.

I bought this remote to use with the TomTom 740. I had the 930T which included the remote and found it very useful. It helps when going from screen to screen. The only complaint I had was that it didn’t access the voice command option. That is, until I visited a European forum and discovered that if you hold the center button for 5 second it activates the microphone. Problem solved. Now it’s perfect. I only wish the manual included that step.
Overall, it is a great feature. And Amazon’s price is right on.

First I thought that my TomTom 720 was the best little device, but now it is number one in my book when I added the Bluetooth Remote. This little remote has been implemented so well I don’t have to look at it when I use it which really makes using the Navigator much safer when on the road.
The buttons have different tactical feel to separate one from another. The button layout design consists of; at the top of the remote there is a directional pad for moving the selection around, in the middle section of the remote there is a row of three buttons that correspond to the normal three buttons on the bottom part of the navigator screen, along the bottom part of the remote there is the volume control.
TomTom has given every button a function on the main screen so you can control navigation and music without looking at other screens. I also found one shortcut that is very helpful; going left in the paged menus lets you go thru all the pages fast. All buttons get used close to equal so there is no wasted button real state on this remote.
There is almost no feature you cannot access with this remote on your TomTom. I have only found one thing that does need you to touch the screen; that being the favorite’s icon. My guess though is there may be a way or they will add the functionality at some point, because the TomTom software engineers always seem to be releasing updates for their devices.
So all in all this is a great addition to your TomTom!
