This wall charger is great for my Magellan Maestro 3140. I like having the option of charging my Maestro at home while I program new addresses.

I just upgraded the maps on my Maestro 3140 to the 2008/2009 versions, and the AC adaptor is just about required for keeping the unit powered up during the multiple hour upgrade cycle (I’ve read, and the upgrade software says, that interrupting the update process by running out of power or some other reason will end very badly). It also seems that the car adaptor doesn’t do as good a job as plugging it in at home and letting it charge overnight. I already had one around the house somewhere but couldn’t find it, so I figured the only way I’d find that one was to buy another.

I am very happy with the power unit I purchased. I was able to update my GPS without the worry of it powering down during the process. I feel the product was worth what I paid.

It’s a simple, necessary utility item. They either work to do the job required, or they don’t. This one’s working ok a couple times now. ‘Nuff said!
