I love it! I’m a driver for MV Transportation and we drive for Access Services, transporting disabled people across Los Angeles, California.

At a moment’s notice. I may have to pull my Garmin Nuvi along with my stuff to set up in another van. I’ve left behind the suction cup three times, and the typical bean bag/friction mounts are too bulky for what I need.

Everything zips up and tucks away quickly. I keep the cord tucked into the little velcro pocket.

As we transport the disabled, our driving has to be very careful, with no heavy acceleration or stopping (or else we trip the safety camera). I haven’t had any problems with the carrying case moving. I jam everything in the left corner of the dash, it doesn’t move unless I want it to move.

The only problem I’ve had is glare. With a suction cup, I can adjust the screen away from glare. The case is a little trickier in daylight hours. However, I find if I move the case around a little bit, it’s not much of a problem, and of course, not a problem at night. The case sometimes can even block glare, depending on the angle.

An additional advantage is obscurity. When pulling into a seedy fast food parking lot, I simply flip the case down, covering the screen in the shadow. Unless someone is looking really hard, they can’t spot my GPS for a smash and grab. If I’m really paranoid, I can just pull the whole thing and stash it in the back.

This case has been worth every penny.

The missing ’snap’ that holds the case open, is an example of todays companies that care more about quanity, tnan quality. The case is good to store your gps in, but it can’t be used to display the gps during travel if the ’snap’ is missing. I thought I could get a shoe repair shop to install a ’snap’ for me, only to find out, shoe repair shops are as hard to find as a company that puts quality ahead of quanity.

This is exactly what people need instead of the one that is attached to the winder. I found it to be less invasive and easier to move so it does not impact you from seeing the road

The weighted dash mount housed my Magellan GPS fairly well, except for…

on a nice trip in sunny Florida, listening to oldies music around high noon, I was not able to see the GPS screen because of the sun glare. It would have been nice for the Dash Mount to have a hood or sun visor. Well, I placed my wife’s sun visor over the Dash Mount! Looked hokey but it kinda worked.

Next, about an hour later, my < b >GPS fell out of the Dash Mount!< / b > Seems that the heat on the dash melted the glue that adhered the GPS unit to the Dash Mount! I pressed the unit back into the mount each time this happened (3 times that day). Luckily my GPS was not damaged otherwise I would have returned the Dash Mount along with a claim for my damaged GPS.

I called customer support when I returned home and asked if they had a hood mount and better adhesives…they said no.

I cannot recommend the Dash Mount for anyone driving in the hot sun.

This Dash Mount is a great Mount if you have the proper place to place it on your dash. We did not have that so it bounced and was crooked most of the time. We returned this and did order a similar mount that we had before. This does not reflect on the actual product but rather on the function given where we had to place it. Our GPS and Mount were stolen and we had to replace all of it so we tried new products.
